A Visit from Wilbur!

It's been a very interesting week! Wednesday morning many of my students gathered to pray for our school and our country. Thursday we had a little piglet named Wilbur visit us during recess! Friday we visited the K-4 class to read again. I am so proud of my children and their reading ability! They are a joy to everyone who visits with us. I thank God for allowing me to teach these awesome students!

So much fun at Grandparents' Day today!

I was so proud of my children this Friday. Each student read to K-4 students. They did such a good job! Each of my students were like little teachers! The four year olds loved having them!

My Little Teachers

I am thrilled with my eight students this year. Our first two days have been wonderful! My students are very obedient and work very hard for me. This Wednesday we will have a pretest over spelling Lesson 1. Please sign the pretest, and the actual test will be Thursday. Friday will be the Bible test over Ephesians 4:32. If you have any prayer requests, please email them to me, and I will post them on this website. I thank God for each of you. It is a privilege to teach your child.

Clarification

A few students have asked what the difference is between the "Definition" and "Description" on the planet WS (Out-Of-Sight Information).

For the definition, Mrs. Tanner wants to know which planet it is from the sun.

For the description, she wants to know the physical features (color, etc.)

Planet Projects!

My students chose a planet today. They have a report page which gives instructions for our project. The project will be due April 15th and 16th. These projects are always a lot of fun and a great learning experience.

The A.R. War Begins!! :)

Elise and Jordan Ashley have over 135 A.R. points! They are working hard to have the highest points in the class. I am so proud of them! REMEMBER, each student should have 50 points by the last week of school to attend the Shield Party! Yeah!!!

Presidential Notecards

Dear Parents,

I looked over your child's notecards and returned them today. I made some corrections that need to be fixed as they are writing their paper. *They do NOT have to re-write their notecards unless you so desire.*

Also, please remember that each notecard is a seperate paragraph. Therefore, there should be a minimum of four paragraphs when they write their papers. If you have any further questions, feel free to email Mrs. Tanner or send in a note.

The paper is due on Friday, January 29th. Your child's presentation day (first week of February) was handwritten by myself on the sheet that explains the reports.

Presidential Reports

Happy New Year everyone! It is good to be back. A special thank you to those of you who prayed for Lindsay & me while I was out. Also, your gifts were greatly appreciated - your generosity has been overwhelming!

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about what we will be discussing the next few weeks. Friday, Jan. 8th, I will draw students' names (at random) to pick a former president to write a report on. Please discuss with your child a couple of different options in case the one they wanted has already been chosen. (Washington, Lincoln, & Roosevelt are normally the first to go.)

I will be sending home a detailed sheet next week, explaining what I will be looking for and due dates of the assignments. *Majority of this project will be completed OUT of class, at home.* The reports will count as three test grades (two for English & one for History). In the past, this has been one of the more memorable things we have done in third grade. I am looking forward to what this class has to offer!

We Love our Grandparents!!

Welcome Lindsay Nicole Gossage!

We were thrilled to learn that Mr. and Mrs. Gossage were blessed with a new baby girl, Lindsay Nicole Gossage, this past Wednesday. We will miss Mrs. Gossage, but are happy she will be joining us again after the Christmas break. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Gossage! We can't wait to meet Lindsay!
